Those looking for a bit of summer family fun this Fourth of July weekend need look no further than Tinley Park Ribfest, featuring a fireworks show and free admission for Tinley Park residents on its final day!

Come out from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 1 to Tuesday, July 4 in the south parking lot at the 80th Avenue train station for a lineup of great live music, a children’s carnival, tons of delicious ribs, free parking and more. The fun will culminate on Independence Day with more great music and ribs, entertainment for kids, free admission for Tinley Park residents, and a fireworks show at dusk set to music!

True to its name, Tinley Park Ribfest will have all sorts of mouth-watering ribs for sale from some of the nation’s best restaurants. Grab a slab from Austin’s Texas Lightning, Chicago BBQ, Armadillo’s BBQ, Aussom Aussie, Howling Coyote, Blazin Broncos, and Branding Iron. Also enjoy food from local favorites Durbin’s Pizza, the Open Bottle, Union Bar and Grill, Kona Ice and Local One, plus a Fire Café featuring Maja’s Ice Cream, Pineapple Shop, Helen’s Kitchen and the Lemonade Stand. Be sure to come hungry!

As the safety of visitors will be paramount at Tinley Park Ribfest, there will be bag checks and magnetometers at all entrances, and all visitors age 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult age 21 or older. Visitors are welcome to bring blankets, bag chairs, and small coolers, but are asked to please leave things like large coolers and bags at home. Other things that won’t be allowed in the event perimeter include bike riding, rollerblading, skateboarding, unauthorized vehicles, concealed carry, and animals (except for service animals).

Free parking will be available in the north parking lot at the 80th Avenue train station, 18001 S. 80th Ave., Tinley Park. Parking also will be available at the Oak Park Avenue train station, 6700 South St., Tinley Park, with a free shuttle service available to take visitors to and from the event from 2 to 10:30 p.m. each day. Please note that there will be free parking at the Oak Park Avenue train station from July 1 to July 4 for everyone, regardless of whether they plan to attend Ribfest or not. Handicap parking will be available in the south entrance of the 80th Avenue train station on Timber Drive.

Single-day admission is just $10 per person online and $15 at the gate, and admission is free for children age three and younger.
