The Village and participating sponsors host an annual series of popular, family-friendly events that are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Irish Parade

When: 1 p.m.  |  March 2025
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley
Come out and enjoy the family-friendly Tinley Park Irish Parade along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley! See floats, community groups, local schools and businesses. Enjoy delicious Irish fare and fun at the many Downtown Tinley restaurants. See the Irish Parade page for more information.

Photos with the Bunny

When: Noon to 3 p.m.  |  April 2025
Where: Oak Park Avenue train station, 6700 South Street
This event is held the Sunday before Easter and features a visit from the Easter Bunny! Come out to have your photo taken with the big guy himself! Please bring your own camera.

Art and Garden Market

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  |  TBA 2025
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave.
The Art and Garden Market features florists, garden centers, art for sale and handmade goods. Whether you’re looking to get a jump-start on your spring gardening or just want to find the perfect gift for mom, this is the place to be! See the Art and Garden Market page for more information.

Memorial Day Ceremony

When: 10 a.m.  |  Monday, May 26, 2025
Where: Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza
The Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park Veterans Commission host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza each May. Events include patriotic music, short speeches, a wreath-laying ceremony and a gun salute.

Benches on the Avenue

When: May to October
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets
The Village hosts its Benches on the Avenue public art program each year along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets. The program, which features benches created by amateur and professional artists, has become one of the Village's most popular attractions. Farmers Market

When: Saturdays  |  8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  |  June 1 to Oct. 12
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Avenue

Cruise Nights

When: Tuesdays  |  5 to 8 p.m.  |  June 4 to August 27
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue from 171st Street and 173rd Place
Come to Downtown Tinley Cruise Nights on Tuesdays during the summer in Downtown Tinley for a classic car show with no entry fee, food and beverages for sale and DJ music. Cruise Nights presented by Tinley Park V.F.W. Post 2791.

Music in the Plaza

When: Select Saturdays  |  7 to 10 p.m.  |  June 8 to Sept. 21
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Avenue

Tinley Park White Sox Night

When: Time: 7:10 p.m.  |  Friday, June 7
Where: Guaranteed Rate Field, 333 W. 35th St., Chicago
Each year, the Chicago White Sox offer specially priced tickets to Tinley Park residents and their families to see a home game at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago. Get your tickets now!

Tinley Park Block Party

When: 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 20  |  Noon to 7 p.m.  Sunday, July 21
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Avenue
The Tinley Park Block Party takes place the third weekend in July along Oak Park Avenue and features food and free family fun such as tropical bands on two stages, food vendors, beverages and a lot more!

National Night Out

When: 6 to 9 p.m.  |  Tuesday, August 6
Where: Freedom Park, 7835 Timber Drive
Join the Tinley Park Police Department at this annual, award-winning event every August. Attendees can meet and greet members of Tinley Park’s Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Management Agency and Public Works Department, as well as view the many Village-owned vehicles on display. Other activities include family entertainment and booths from local businesses.

Fire Prevention Open House

When: October 2024
Where: Fire Station No. 46, 17355 S. 68th Court
The Tinley Park Fire Department and the nationally accredited Tinley Park Fire Prevention Bureau hosts its annual open house at Fire Station 46, 17355 S. 68th Court. The open house features fire safety drills, the Junior Firefighter Challenge, CPR training and more.

Tinley Park Boo Bash

When: 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  |  Sunday, Oct. 27
Where: Oak Park Avenue train station, 6700 South Street
The annual Boo Bash is great fun for families with young children. Activities include trick-or-treating through business booths, DJ entertainment and much more! Food and beverages will be sold. The day will open with a sensory-friendly time with reduced noise levels and a quiet zone.

Veterans Day Ceremony

When: 10 to 11 a.m.  |  Monday, Nov. 11
Where: Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza
The Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park Veterans Commission host the annual Veterans Day Ceremony every November at the Gen. Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza. Honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who were willing to in service of the United States. The ceremony includes patriotic music, short speeches and a gun salute.

Holiday Market

When: Friday, Dec. 6  |  Saturday, Dec. 7  |  Sunday, Dec. 8
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Avenue
Stroll into the cozy warmth of a heated tent and shop for unique handmade crafts and creations. Enjoy tasty treats and live music by local groups and entertainers. Community Tree-Lighting Ceremony

When: 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Avenue
Village officials will light the magnificent 35-foot community holiday tree. Arrive early for a sing-a-long to holiday music at 5:30 p.m. Dress warmly!

Parade of Lights

When: Sunday, Dec. 8
Where: Viewing area at 175th Street along Oak Park Avenue
The Parade of Lights will march north down Oak Park Avenue from 175th Street to the Subway parking lot. The parade includes festive floats, vehicles, local businesses, community groups and school bands displaying the spirit of the season. A few very special guests from the North Pole will be making an appearance!
