Oak Park Ave. Station

Located in the heart of Tinley Park’s historic district, the 3,600-square-foot Metra train station at 6700 South Street wasOPA Station 3 honored in 2007 by the  American Institute of Architects as one of the 150 Great Places of Illinois.

The station has more than 700 parking spaces for commuters and is fully handicapped-accessible.

With exterior stone, a slate roof and wood rafters, the station truly is a sight  to behold. But perhaps its most impressive feature is a three-story clock tower with an observation deck that offers views of Tinley Park and the adjacent Zabrocki Plaza.

Cavallini’s in the Park provides food services to commuters, who can either grab a bite to eat inside the station or, when the weather is nice, outside in the outdoor seating/dining area. The indoor cafe features large windows and provides a full view of the train tracks and promenade area, as well as custom furnishings and free Wi-Fi access.

The station is open from 5:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The station is closed on Sundays.

Cavallini’s in the Park also is open during certain special community events and private functions. Call (708) 444-4946 to schedule your event.
