Right of Way Permits

See the General Conditions for more information.

How does the process work?

Utility companies seeking to perform work in Tinley Park must be licensed and bonded annually. They must also apply for a permit, which is reviewed by Village engineers to ensure work adheres to Village standards. Once approved, utility companies have access to easements, which are areas that are a designated amount of feet from the property line around an entire property (easements can be found on your property's plat of survey). J.U.L.I.E. is called out to mark the ground, and the utility company is responsible for notifying the affected residents via letters, calls, or doorknockers. After work has been completed, a second crew is sent out to restore the affected landscaping.
