Village seeking 'Benches' artists

Are you an artist looking to unleash your inner animal? If so, the Village invites you to submit a design for next year's Benches on the Avenue public art program!

 

The 2022 Benches will be themed around an “Animal Adventure” and will be on display from May to October along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley. The Village is looking for artists to create unique, kid- and family-friendly, imaginative and three-dimensional designs that will take visitors on an animal exhibit without ever leaving Oak Park Avenue. Portrayals should be vibrant, colorful and include some degree of three-dimensional art. Each handcrafted wooden bench will be sponsored by a local business or individual who will take possession of the bench at the end of the season.

 

Anyone with an imagination and a bit of artistic creativity can participate. Just fill out the application form and send it to Village Hall by Jan. 28 with your designs for review. Selected artists will receive $425 for supplies and the chance to win one of several awards based on selection criteria. Artists whose designs were selected will be notified by Feb. 11.
