Notary Public Services

The Village is available to provide Notary Public services to area residents. Village of Tinley Park Notaries can only witness the identity of a person for a specific purpose, which is typically associated with the signing of documents. An Illinois Notary Public does not provide any legal advice or other services.

Due to additional legal requirements, the Notary Publics at the Village of Tinley Park cannot notarize documents associated with the transfer of real estate. Documents requiring the witness of a Notary Public cannot be signed before seeing the Notary Public. The Village also does not notarize certain documents such as the I-9, a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service form used by an employer to verify an employee’s identity and to establish that the worker is eligible to accept employment in the U.S.

The individual whose signature requires the witness of a Notary must bring photo identification and be physically present before the Notary at the time the document is signed.
