The Tinley Park Emergency Management Team (EMA) is a dedicated group of trained personnel who support the Village's preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts for emergencies and large-scale events. Operating under the direction of the Village of Tinley Park, EMA works in coordination with Police, Fire, Public Works, and other partner agencies to ensure the safety and resilience of the community.
Members of the EMA team play a vital role in both planned and unplanned incidents. Their responsibilities may include assisting with severe weather monitoring; managing traffic and crowd control during community events; coordinating resources; and providing logistical and communication support during emergencies.
The team is composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, allowing EMA to effectively respond to a wide range of situations. Members are trained in emergency management principles, incident command structure, and public safety support functions. They are expected to operate both independently and as part of a coordinated team, often in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
Participation in the Tinley Park EMA requires a strong commitment to public service, professionalism, and ongoing training. Members are expected to uphold the policies, procedures, and standards established by the Village and to always represent the organization with integrity.
