The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is a designated facility established to support the coordination of incident management activities during emergencies, disasters, or planned events. The EOC provides a central point for command staff, support personnel, and representatives from involved agencies to gather, share information, and make strategic decisions. The EOC does not replace on-scene incident command, but rather supports field operations by:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating critical information
  • Coordinating resources and personnel
  • Facilitating interagency communication and cooperation
  • Supporting policy-level decision making
  • Maintaining situational awareness for all involved stakeholders
The EOC may be activated at varying levels depending on the scope and severity of the incident. Staffing may include representatives from Fire, Police, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Public Works, Administration, and other partner agencies as needed. The overall goal of the EOC is to ensure an organized, efficient, and unified response that protects life, property, and the continuity of government operations.
