'Benches' to hit the street Monday
Say hello to some of your favorite childhood friends when the 21st annual Benches on the Avenue public art project returns this Monday along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley!Immerse yourself in the worlds of the Simpsons, Spongebob Squarepants, Popeye, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Looney Tunes, He-Man, the Flintstones, Top Cat, the Pink Panther and many, many more with this year's theme, "Saturday Morning Cartoons."
An astounding 25 benches will line Oak Park Avenue this year, so there's something for fans of nearly every era of cartoons, from the 1930s to today!
Grab some friends (and your camera) and come out along Oak Park Avenue from 171st to 175th streets starting Monday to see all of this year's colorful benches, all of which were created by amateur and professional artists. Learn more at TinleyPark.org/Benches.
