The Plan Commission has been created to ensure that adequate provisions are made for the preparation of a comprehensive Village plan for the guidance, direction and control of the growth and development of the community. Commissioners are charged with preparing and recommending to the Village Board a comprehensive plan for the present and future development of the Village (and contiguous unincorporated territory not more than 1 ½ miles beyond the corporate limits of the Village and not included in any other municipality). The commission may recommend to designate land suitable for annexation (and recommended the zoning classification for such land upon annexation).
