2012 Fraud Alerts
Red Light Camera Scam - Scammers are calling phone numbers at random and telling victims that they have an overdue red light camera fine. They claim that the only way to avoid a significant late fee, a court case or even jail time is to pay the bill over the phone. Never pay a fine or give out credit card or Social Security information over the phone. Demand something in writing.
Prize Cruise Scam - Victims receive a phone call with news that they won a cruise or a cut-rate price on a cruise. They are then asked for a Social Security number and credit card number to pay a deposit, port taxes or processing fee. It is a scam. Book cruises through a travel agent or directly with the cruise line.
Green Dot Card Scam - Victims are told they won money and a new car, and must pay $350 for a Green Dot MoneyPak card (a pre-paid money card) to claim the prize. They are asked for the number on the back of the card and told the prize money will be delivered, but the pre-paid $350 is then depleted off the card.
Do Not Call List - Call 1-888-382-1222 to be placed on this list. You must call from the phone number being enrolled.

Owners of reported vehicles receive a packet of information about car seat safety and Illinois law.Buckle Buddy Child Safety Seat Information Children need to be properly restrained in child safety seats until they are at least 8 years old, more than 4-foot-9 inches tall and weigh 80 pounds. All passengers must wear a safety belt, regardless of age and where they are seated. Inspections are by appointment only and can be made by calling Dina Navas at (708) 444-5326.2012 Police Coloring Contest Winners Emergency Contact Database This database allows Illinois driver's license and ID cardholders to enter emergency contact information into a voluntary, secure database.
