Freedom Pond construction to result in road closures

Several roads will be closed beginning at noon Thursday, July 13 as a result of construction at Freedom Pond, a naturalized detention basin at the northeast corner of 175th Street and Ridgeland Avenue.

Construction will result in the intersection of Oak Forest and Ridgeland avenues being shut down for five working days (weather dependent). Traffic for Oak Forest Avenue will be shut down completely in the northeast direction from Ridgeland Avenue. The southwest direction from 167th Street will be local traffic only, and drivers will be able to access the road up to the ABC Roofing driveway.

The existing detour for Ridgeland Avenue northbound will remain the same.
