Village implements new FOIA management system

The Village of Tinley Park has added a new state-of-the-art automated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) management system to increase transparency and provide an ease of operation.

The new system will improve transparency by providing accessibility through the Village website, where the public can make requests, check the status of their requests, view requests made by others and view responsive documents.

The new FOIA management system also will improve staff efficiency by incorporating its data, improving response time and providing accountability by reporting all areas of activity.

“Our new FOIA management system uses the latest technology to streamline the request process and make the entire experience easier for both the user and Village staff,” Tinley Park Village Clerk Patrick E. Rea said. “I think everyone is going to be very pleased with this new system. We intend to improve our FOIA system for our citizens.”

The public can access the new system by visiting www.tinleypark.org and clicking on “Submit a FOIA” on the left-hand side of the homepage.
