Many of the streets being resurfaced will use an environmentally friendly, cost-effective technology called heater-scarification to recycle the top layer of asphalt in place prior to the new pavement surface being applied. The intense heat from this operation may cause temporary discoloration of grass and tree leaves along the parkway, but be assured that all trees and grass will return to full color after a few months.
