'The Boulevard at Central Station'
The Village Board has approved a proposal by South Street Development, LLC, for the development of a five- to six-story, mixed-use building on the south side of South Street between 67th Avenue and 67th Court, across the street from the Oak Park Avenue train station. 80th Avenue Train Station
The new 80th Avenue train station is open and serving commuters daily. The facility features Parmesans Station restaurant, which opens at 5 a.m. and is a destination point for commuters, residents and visitors.
171st Street Force Main Replacement Project
Replacement of a deteriorating sanitary force main that runs beneath 171st Street near 80th Avenue has been completed and installation of median landscaping will be ongoing as weather permits.
LaGrange Road Median Replacement
The Illinois Department of Transportation is removing and replacing the median along LaGrange Road from 131st to 179th streets in Orland Park, Orland Hills, Tinley Park and Palos Park. Work began on May 1 and includes median removal, construction of temporary pavement and storm sewer work. The project requires traffic lanes to be reduced during construction activities, which will occur mostly during nighttime hours. Daytime lane closures will occur between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Nighttime lane closures will occur between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The expected completion date of the project is July 26.
The plaza and walkway located adjacent to the 80th Avenue train station feature monuments dedicated to the five branches of the Armed Forces--Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard--as well as engraved bricks donated in honor of specific veterans. 80th Avenue Improvement Project
An 80th Avenue roadway improvement study by the Will County Department of Highways is under way to gather information about the existing travel and safety conditions on the road between 183rd and 191st Streets. Proposed improvements include the widening of the road and bridge from two to four lanes as well as drainage and surface improvements.

172nd Street Pedestrian Bridge
This pedestrian bridge off 172nd Street, which passes over a creek and into the park areas near Vogt Woods (including the Bulldogs baseball field), will be closed for several months pending replacement for safety issues.
Detention Pond G Improvement Project
Work is under way to improve the ecological health and storm water management function of the detention pond on the west side of 80th Avenue between 171st and 174th Streets.
